Sports Psychology
Working with elite athletes goes beyond repeating the techniques already known by most accomplished athletes, such as self-motivation, focus, positive attitude, stress and emotional management, and input-based goal setting. It involves developing an individual understanding of the particular athlete and the challenges to their successfully utilizing those techniques to perform at their best. Once those challenges are understood, Dr. Goonan works with the individual to clear the obstacles that keep them from reaching the coveted state of flow and attaining their optimal performance.
Dr. Brian Goonan worked for the Houston Ballet for 9 years, Elite TNT Tennis Academy for 3 years, and Velocity Sports Performance for 2 years, and with dozens of individuals at various levels across nearly every sport. |
